FMC

FMC is a white crystalline complex powder and eco-friendly halogen-free flame retardants, which has the advantage of low toxicity, low smoke and high thermal stability. The product is odorless, tasteless, insoluble in water and general organic solvents. It can be used in polymers with processing temperatures up to 300°C such as polyamides, epoxy resin, thermoplastic polyurethanes and polyesters, especially for non-reinforced nylon (including PA6, PA66). Above 320°C, FMC undergoes endothermic decomposition to melamine and cyanuric acid. These two compounds further decompose at higher temperatures to ammonia, water, and CO2. This heat sink/diluent effect helps to reduce the flammability of polymers.
